This is the number-one cause. If the Pin lives on a private or secret board, its link won't open for anyone who isn't logged in with access — so no tool can read it. Check by opening the link in an incognito window: if it doesn't load there, that's your answer.
2. You copied the wrong link
Make sure you copied the individual Pin's link, not a board URL, a search results page, or your home feed. The right link comes from Share → Copy link on the Pin itself, or the address bar while a single Pin is open. A board or search URL has no single video to grab.
3. The Pin is deleted or expired
If the creator removed the Pin, or it was taken down, the link still exists but the video behind it is gone — so there's nothing to download. Opening the link will usually show an error or an empty Pin.
4. The video is region-locked
A few Pins are only available in certain countries. If a video plays for the person who shared it but not for you, it may be blocked in your region — and a downloader sees the same block you do.
5. The Pin links out to another site
Some "video" Pins are really thumbnails that link to a video hosted somewhere else — a blog, YouTube, another platform. Pinterest isn't storing the video, so there's nothing on the Pin to download. Follow the Pin to its source instead.
